Our Privacy Commitment
At Beybico, we believe your pregnancy journey is deeply personal and private. We've built our entire platform with privacy as the foundation, not an afterthought.
This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We're committed to transparency and giving you complete control over your data.
Data We Collect and Why
Contact information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use this to provide your account and personalize the app.
Health and pregnancy data: Information you choose to provide, such as last menstrual period, due date, pregnancy-related symptoms, health check-ins (e.g., weight, blood pressure, sleep, nutrition), and appointments. This is used solely to deliver pregnancy tracking and related features.
Identifiers: We assign a user ID to your account and, for push notifications, we store a device token (e.g., via Firebase Cloud Messaging). These are used for app functionality and are not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Usage data: We collect analytics about how you use the app (e.g., screen views, feature usage) to improve the product. Where possible we use anonymized or aggregated data. This data is not used for advertising or tracking.
Diagnostics: We collect crash and performance data to fix bugs and improve stability. This is not used for advertising or tracking.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers.
How We Use Your Information
Personalization: To provide you with customized content and features based on your pregnancy stage.
Notifications: To send you relevant reminders and updates if you've opted in.
Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our app (using anonymized data only).
Support: To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
Profiles and Data Storage
We store your data in structured profiles on our servers:
User profile: Account details, preferences (e.g., language, measurement units), and optional profile information such as avatar or phone number.
Pregnancy profile: Your last menstrual period, due date, and related dates. Your current pregnancy week and day are computed from this data when you use the app.
Health profile: Health check-in data (e.g., symptoms, weight, notes) that you choose to log. Sensitive health data in this profile is encrypted at rest (see Encryption and Security below).
All of this data is stored on our secure infrastructure and used only to provide and improve the Beybico service.
Encryption and Security
Transit: All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not send your personal or health data over unencrypted connections.
At rest: Sensitive health data (e.g., health check-ins, weight, notes, symptoms, medications) is encrypted using industry-standard, field-level encryption before it is stored. We do not store this health data in plain text on our servers.
Passwords: Your account password is hashed using secure, industry-standard methods. We cannot see or recover your password.
Access: Only you can access your pregnancy and health data through the app. Our team does not have access to your decrypted health information. We apply access controls and security practices and review them regularly.
What We Don't Do
We never sell your personal information to advertisers or third parties.
We never share your pregnancy data with insurance companies or healthcare providers without your explicit consent.
We never use your data to train AI models or for purposes other than improving your experience.
We never send you unsolicited marketing emails (only service-related communications).
Your Rights and Choices
Access: You can view and export your data from the app. For a full copy or specific requests, contact us (see Contact Us).
Correction: You can update or correct your information at any time in the app settings.
Deletion: You can delete your account from the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account). We first deactivate your account and remove sensitive data (e.g., encrypted health data). After a short grace period (e.g., 30 days), your account and remaining data are permanently deleted. You can reactivate during the grace period by logging in again.
Opt-out: You can turn off push notifications and adjust notification preferences in the app. Analytics and diagnostics are used only for app functionality and improvement, not for advertising.
For more on your rights under data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), see our Data Protection page.
Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following third-party provider to operate the app:
Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for (1) Analytics—to understand how the app is used (e.g., screen views, feature usage); (2) Crashlytics—to collect crash and diagnostic data so we can fix bugs and improve stability; and (3) Cloud Messaging—to send you push notifications (e.g., reminders) when you have opted in.
Data shared with Firebase is used only for these purposes. We do not use Firebase (or any provider) for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers. Firebase's use of data is subject to Google's privacy policy; we choose settings and practices that prioritize your privacy.
Children's Privacy
Beybico is designed for expectant parents who are 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or via email.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
